1.1 -- Good Design

These are my favorite jackets for outdoor and city life:

Both jackets are made of windproof material. Both are full of cinch-cords, pockets, cuffs, skirts, ventilation zippers and other convenient things. They are well-tailored and breatheable. All this allows me to wear them in a large temperature range and different levels of activity. The right one even stands a little rain.

1.2 -- Find the Gap

1. I want my curtains to open automaticaly every day in the same time in the morning and close automaticaly when it becomes dark.

2. Of course, the mess on a desk is a common problem. I need some system.

3. One day I has flooded neighbors below. I need a device that will notice the leak of water and let me know before the water gets to the neighbors.

4. I'm looking for a device that would help me easily get up early. Sleep tracker is good but not enough.

5. I want to dim the backlight under my bed. It should automatically turn on when I get out of bed and off when it is not needed. It should not turn on when the light.

It should look something like this:

6. I have a set of my favorite movies on my computer. I have a TV, the only purpose of which - to watch these movies. Under the TV are speakers and selfmade amplifier. The easyest way to watch a movie is to bring my laptop under the TV, and plug:

  • HDD hub with 3.5'' HDD in case that movies I need are there.
  • 3,5 jack for sound
  • HDMI cable with Display Port adapter
  • Power supply
  • USB media remote
I need to drastically simplify the process.

7. My daughter is three and she is old enough to undress herself.  Every time we come from a walk, she requested a bowl to flip itsit down and take off her boots. I need a folding chair in the hallway.

8. My parents has a dacha which has a well. This well is main source of water. Now it is hard to control the level of water in it - we realize that there is no water when it was already over. I want co construct a device, which make the level of water easily visible.

9. I need some kind of child's timetable for my daughter.

10. A bit more global gap is the screen keyboards. All on-screen keyboard that I've seen are not satisfactory. The very idea of on-screen keyboard - it's better than nothing, but pales in comparison with the regular keyboard with buttons. I really need a compact input device that allows me to enter text in my phone / tablet at a speed of a conventional keyboard.

1.3 -- Visual Expression

1.4 -- Design for You

1. Visual Expression

This is how I see the final result:
And this is the layout of the first prototype. It's rather easy to implement the idea. Unfortunatly I haven't got all details I need, so I use a LED instead of a speaker:

2. Prototype

The prototype demonstrates the basic principle of operation of the device: water conductivity is higher than the conductivity of air.
When the contacts are in the water - the green LED lights:
