Question 5.1 -- Concept testing

Part 1

Really I came to one concept last week. It was rather obviously. There was one concept which was both rather easy to implement and  with best user characteristics. So I created the working prototype of concept B called "Hanging on the cord". A prototype that beeps when contacts the water. Video available on week-4 page.

This prototype can be hung over an area of potential flooding or abandoned in a remote place.

There is a beautiful feature in this concept -- it can be used when pouring large volumes of liquids. Baths, for example.

The main disadvantage discovered during testing of the prototype is that it worked only in vertical mode. When been hanged.  When it was lying on the side there needed a lot of water for make it beep.

So I have done some refinement.

Now it can work both vertical and horizontal.

Part 2.

This time target users were my wife and my friend. As I already had one concept -- it was importent for me to know how could I refine my prototype. I was comparing my prototype with cheap comercial analogs. And I asked my respondents to articulate advantages and disadvantages of both instances.

I also asked to put down on a five-point evaluation scale, but in the end it came out not too revealing.
